Thanks, Hugo! It IS an old plant and has just now bloomed for the first time in its new surroundings and new pot, finally--in a new greenhouse installed 2 years ago! Many thanks for the ID!

I haven't seen a flower from it yet and don't know if it has milky sap. The closest visual I can find on the internet for it is M. fraileana. But photos are not always reliable. This is the first year its spent in my new greenhouse, so perhaps it will bloom this summer. Previously its been a 'window...

More ID help please?
I've had this Mamm for a while and don't know its species. Suggestions...anyone? The spines at the crown are long and maroon, below those—white, and from there to the base, golden. Its not a young plant, and is 6" tall. Many thanks in advance. http://i254.photobucket.com/albums/hh103/jd131/Mam1...

Peterb...how funny...some sort of cactus! LMAO!

Uh, I'd say setispinus. Not sure what genus that's in right now. I guess Ferocactus or Thelocactus. It used to be called Hamatocactus setispinus.

Every one...THANKYOU!
I'm so impressed with everyone on this forum and with CactiGuide.com! Thank you everyone for your responses and time. It was above freezing here in USDA zone 5 this afternoon, and having cabin fever I ventured back to that garden center just to see what I might have missed. Sure enough...3 more jump...
