Re: What is this?

Hallo ct
At first glimpse it looks like echinopsis/trichocereus terscheckii. A good grower!

Greetings from the western edge of Germany,

Re: Need help with ID

Hi rickbianchi
#2 could be some Kind of bald Pilosocereus, according to colour and spination.

Re: id for "Dead Flowers"

Thank you!

Now that you mention it, I see it clearly! I even own one of this kind:

Much more wool, less ribs, larger spines with intense red/brown colour!
But I like the new one too.

id for "Dead Flowers"

Hallo Recently I bought a seriously maltreated one: Dead Flowers-1.jpg It looks like a young columnar one, but the label says: Mammillaria-mix. I do not agree! pot-diameter ca. 3.5 ''. here some Details: Dead Flowers-2.jpg Dead Flowers-3.jpg What do you think? Some kind of Pachycereus? Thanks in adv...

Re: very hard to root

Maybe, but some people especially like to do things which are hard or even dangerous. To me it seems most important that things are interesting and satisfying. This could be another reason to root Pachycereus.

Re: Cardon?

Hi
I think it is a Pachy pringl indeed. This species is quite variable (especially concerning the color of the fresh spines, varying from deep red to pale white) and a cutting always lokks a little different than a plant grown from seed.

greetings,

Tofterigen (from autumnal Germany)

Re: Aeonium?

If an Aeonium at all, than haworthii. It's so bushy! At first glimpse it looks like Euphorbia balsamifera. (Both plants from the Canary Islands)

Re: 2 cacti for ID

No.1 might be some kind of trichocereus, No.2 looks like a porcupine.

Re: long and soft spines

Hi I followed your advice and my personal inclination and bought this nice group of P. lenninghausii. I gave away two other cacti to another enthusiast to provide additional space. Not only for the plant but for some other species which I discovered at home! Here one of my older pictures of an impre...

long and soft spines

Hi everybody This group of plants caught my attention at a garden-center yesterday (diameter of pot is 4-5"): IMG_20170827_145051585_HDR.jpg I really like them, but I think they are very similar to Parodia magnifica with a lot of ribs and too long spines. I'd like to be informed about the ID be...
