Re: ID request
8 usb for a small cactus is a bit much. Do some research on the cactus and see if you like it. 3-4$ seems to be a good price everywhere. However i cannot comment on the value of his species as im not familiar with it.

Re: Propagation of Frilly Echeverias from the Flower Stem
Thank you. Most helpful and much common sense! Do you think they might root better in a propagator with some heat and of course the UV flourescent tube.? They would do well anywhere. Just not too much heat and barely (and i do mean barely) spray the surface of the soil (not leaves) every few days u...

Re: Agave identification
Since no-one else has chipped in yet, 1 looks a bit like A. attenuata. I'm not sure it is though.. Thanks man! But after extensive research i found that #1 is A. Desmettiana. And #2 is just plain regular agave variegata. Turns out being more yellow doesnt mean it's special  now it's just gonna...

The 2nd one is an agave americana variegata. I own several dozens of them since they are my favorite succulents of all time (next to aeoni...

Re: Aeonium arboreum question
Thats very intersting thank you! Im gonna try that! Would you say a tall stump can be cut in 2 and rooted?esp_imaging wrote:Yeah, I've done just stem cuttings with Aeonium (possible A. arboreum). A got a really leggy head on a stalk as a cutting, cut the head off and rooted both head and the stump bit successfully.

Aeonium arboreum question
Hello everyone, I've propagated aeonium arboreum many times successfully by stem cutting with no problems. I do know they dont propagate by leaves. However, i found this pic to be interesting. The post said that they can be propagated by a naked stem cutting (bottom left). What do you guys think? Is...

Thanks a lot for this info.esp_imaging wrote:Yeah, I think beheading it will work. The stump will sprout and the head should root, hopefully with time to offset before it flowers and dies.

Re: Sempervivum ID

Yeah i couldnt find any info about stem cutting. But the stem is 8 or 9 inches and it only seemed logical to take a cutting like i wou...

Sempervivum ID
Hello guys, I've had this little guy for more than 15 years. It withstands several feet of snow and many deep freezes without breaking a sweat and it sends out tiny rosettes on long stems and i've never seen it flower. I hope this info helps indentify the species. Also the stem is getting too long a...

Re: Various cacti identification help
Could very well be but i saw it has more spines per node and lacking the dark spines. I browsed through the whole mammillaria catalogue and didnt find a satisfying answer.Kamos wrote:The last one looks like Mammillaria karwinskiana.
