Subfamily: Cactoideae
Tribe: Hylocereeae
Distribution: Costa Rica : Nicaragua : Panama : Colombia : Ecuador (Central America, North America)
Habit: Angled
Flower: WhiteEncounterability: Rare
Species Notes:
The name can not be typified. It COULD be an juvenil form of any Central American Hylocereus. But the type is a five angled plant and flowers are unknown. The name is best discarded. Usually plants with this name belong to H. monacanthus or H. costaricensis. I would say the two photos of your is H. monacanthus and Matt Cheney's photo is H. costaricensis.
