Species Notes:E. thomasianum is very similar in appearance to E. oxypetalum. The stem growth is more or less indistinguishable. The buds of E. thomasianum are said to be more of a reddish color though I haven't been able to compare this trait side by side. The stamens of E. thomasianum are golden-yellow and stand out against the white petals dramatically compared to the white stamens which are nearly invisible on E. oxypetalum. Finally, there is litter or no scent on E. thomasianum flowers while E. oxypetalum has a strong fragrance.
