Species Notes: The name, "pectinatus var. coahuila" has never been published and is therefore not a valid name. It is believed with good reason that plants with this name in cultivation is the result of the locality being mistaken for a variety. In other words, plants or seeds that were labled "Coahuila" actually meant those collected from the Mexican state of Coahuila de Zaragoza, but was misinterpreted as variety coahuila.

I have left this name here with this data so that it may be found in searches along with this corrective note.
